Abellio threatened with insolvency

According to reports, several regional competitors of Deutsche Bahn are in financial difficulties. Even though the management denies speculations regarding an insolvency, Abellio, one of the leading operators of regional trains, might soon hand in insolvency proceedings after a loss of EUR 33m in FY 2019. Abellio operates 50 lines with 278 trains in Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Central Germany.
