Alu Rheinfelden applies for provisional insolvency

The family-owned company Aluminium Rheinfelden Group is experiencing the effects of the corona pandemic. The Group has applied to the Lörrach Local Court for the opening of a protective shielding procedure. This means that the traditional company in the South Baden town of Rheinfelden is going into insolvency under its own administration. The group employs 256 FTEs at the site in three different divisions. After the death of the company founder Alois Franke in 2018, his daughter Erika Zender took over tas CEO. In 2018 the group had revenues of EUR 185m with EBITDA of EUR 23m.
