Evonik prepares divesture of Babycare business
September 23, 2020
The specialty chemicals group Evonik is creating the conditions for selling its superabsorbers business. The business with superabsorbent materials and the precursor acrylic acid, which is mainly used in diapers, will be spun off, according to a decision by the board of directors, said an Evonik spokesperson on Tuesday. This process will probably take 6-9 months. After that, among other things, a partnership or a sale would be options for the future of the business with about 800 FTEs. Thomas Mahlstedt is responsible for M&A activities at Evonik.
