Major brands want to block Real takeover
September 29, 2020
As reported, the investors SCP Group and the real estate giant x+bricks are currently in the process of selling the remaining stores of the Real supermarket chain. After the Federal Cartel Office already extended deadlines, the major German brand manufacturers are now interfering in the deal. They are calling on the competition authorities to prohibit the sale. Almost 380 brands such as Alpro, Bacardi, Coca-Cola, Danone or Nestlé are members of the brand association. Retailers Kaufland, Edeka and Globus have already submitted wish lists to the Federal Cartel Office. These lists list the locations that the individual retailers want to take over.
