New requirements might lead to more mergers (Finanswatch)

Michael West Hybholt, head of equity research at HC Andersen Capital predicts that new regulatory requirements for bank executives' experience could be the key to more mergers like the merger announced this week between Salling Bank and Sparekassen Vendsyssel. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority proposes that in the future it will require five years of management experience from the highest level to be a bank director in the country's smaller banks.
