PE-firm Finch Capital predicts Fintech consolidation in 2021
September 22, 2020
Several financial start-ups are coming through the crisis better than expected half a year ago. However, according to a current analysis by PE-firm Finch Capital, problems are looming in 2021. "We expect competition for new capital to intensify and massive consolidation to take place in the industry," says Radboud Vlaar, co-founder of Finch Capital. This competition is intensified in European countries like Germany where investors are less inclined to engage in large deals. Christian Nagel, co-founder of the VC Earlybird, also expects a consolidation.
