Planned sale: Cinemaxx and Cinestar still to divest cinemas

As required by the Competition Authority, British "Cinemaxx" operator Vue Entertainment must sell six cinemas in Germany (Augsburg, Bremen, Gütersloh, Magdeburg, Remscheid and Mühlheim/Ruhr) before being able to take over the German cinema chain Cinestar. British Vue Entertainment wants to pay EUR 222m for Cinestar. Because of the virus outbreak, Cinemaxx has had to restart the sale process, which is sluggish. Vue is owned by the Canadian pension funds OMERS and Alberta Investment Management Corp..
