September 23, 2020
In an interview with the newspaper SvD Näringsliv, founder Johan Billgren discloses that the Swedish podcast company Acast is open for a future IPO. Moreover, the company does not rule out an acquisition of the company, provided that the offer is advantageous. According to Billgren, they have a "fairly large" lead over major new competitors such as Amazon and Google, however it seems that competition from Spotify, Apple, Amazon and Google is increasing. Back in June, the company raised SEK 500m at a SEK 2.5bn valuation for its global growth strategy.
